Heat pumps are the most energy-efficient way to heat and cool your home. A single system replaces both your furnace and air conditioner — with lower operating costs and significant government rebates available in Ontario.
Unlike furnaces that generate heat by burning gas, heat pumps move heat that already exists in the outdoor air — even when temperatures drop below -20°C. In summer, the process reverses and the system works as a highly efficient air conditioner.
The outdoor unit absorbs heat energy from the air, even in cold weather, using a refrigerant circuit.
A compressor raises the temperature of the refrigerant, concentrating the heat energy.
The indoor air handler distributes warm air through your home's duct system or direct to the room.
In summer, a reversing valve flips the cycle — pulling heat out of your home and rejecting it outdoors.
The most common type. Extracts heat from outdoor air. Works in climates as cold as -25°C with modern cold-climate models. Compatible with existing ductwork.
Wall-mounted indoor units connected to an outdoor compressor — no ductwork required. Perfect for additions, older homes, and single-room applications.
A heat pump paired with your existing gas furnace. The heat pump handles moderate weather efficiently; the furnace kicks in below a set outdoor temperature for backup heat.
The Canada Greener Homes Grant offers up to $6,500 toward the purchase and installation of an eligible heat pump. Additional provincial and utility rebates may also apply, bringing total incentives even higher.
We handle the application process on your behalf — including the pre- and post-retrofit energy audits required to unlock the maximum rebate amount.
